About Learning Support
Learning Support at UW–Madison consists of many learning centers that offer free academic resources. While tutoring is at its core, learning support also includes writing help, study skill support, and self-directed learning tools.
This website serves as the centralized hub for all on-campus learning centers and can help you get connected to the support you need.
It’s our job to help you find what you’re looking for.

Types of Learning Support
Tutoring
The main service offered through learning centers is academic tutoring. Whether you’re looking for group or drop-in tutoring, the “Find Tutoring” webpage is a great place to start.
Study skills
Need a little boost in all your classes? Study skills workshops and appointments teach fundamental academic skills like how to study smarter, take better notes, stop procrastinating, and more.
Self-directed learning
Some learning centers on campus offer on-demand study resources so that you can find online assistance on your own schedule.
Writing support
Want help with an upcoming writing assignment? There’s a learning center on campus—the Writing Center—that specifically focuses on helping students write better.
Campus Learning Centers
Learning Support is offered through on-campus learning centers, which exist in several different formats. Some focus on one subject or population of students, others serve an entire school/college. All learning centers are staffed by a combination of peer and professional staff—many of whom have advanced degrees in the subject area.
