Learning Support at UW–Madison is more than just tutoring! Explore Study Skills Appointments and Workshops to build effective study habits, manage your time, and prepare confidently for exams. As finals approach, join a Study Jam for collaborative study spaces, test-taking tips, and access to tutors. And if you’re taking chemistry, check out Chem Compass, a collection of tutorials, worksheets, and tools to support your learning in general and organic chemistry.

Study Skills Workshops are a great way for you to explore strategies that will help you study, complete assignments, and prepare for exams more effectively. You do not need to currently have a tutor or attend tutoring sessions to register and attend a Study Skills Workshop.
Interested in personal study assistance? You can sign up for a 1:1 Study Skills Appointment through GUTS, the Greater University Tutoring Service. These appointments are a great way to identify and problem-solve concerns in areas like concentration and focus, exam preparation, note-taking, study methods, time management, and test-taking strategies.
Study Jams are offered at the end of each semester to help you prepare for final exams. Stop by a study jam for assistance with test taking strategies, questions about course material, or to find a study space with peers in a small group setting. The events below are open to all students. You do not need to currently have a tutor or attend tutoring sessions to go to these events!
